I have to be honest here and say that I was not, in fact, feeling groovy about these photos. For some reason I just can't shake the fact that I look kind of weird in them. It's probably all in my head since I'm quite critical of my physical appearance, and that's part of the reason I wanted to put them into a post. The other reason I wanted to post them is because I really did like the outfit. I actually had a meeting with one of my internship bosses that day, I couldn't stop thinking about something. When I met with my first boss, I wore this dress, which made me feel like a 50's secretary. This outfit actually made me feel like a 60's secretary (hence the post title). Maybe, after a few more meetings I'll actually dress like I'm from this decade. Or, maybe not :)

Very cute dress, it looks lovely with the blouse underneath! Fantastic summer look!
ReplyDeleteYou don't look weird! It's funny how critical we are of ourselves, I felt the same way about my last photos but I posted them anyway. You look really cute and I love that jumper. I never did get to order that ASOS top because they wouldn't except any of my cards for some reason..? :/ Anyways, it looks really great with that dress.
ReplyDeleteGreat layering! That dress is so cool, and I really like how the blouse stands out against it. You do not look weird!
ReplyDeleteYou're progressing through the decades a la Mad Men. Just be glad that you're not a secretary! I think you look great, and that we're all too critical of ourselves. I tend to be very critical of pictures when they're first taken, but within a couple of months I think they're fine. Anyway, less nattering from me; the blouse and dress look awesome together!
ReplyDeleteUm, no. You look utterly hot. I'm serious! I was trying to decide what post to read first and I happened to be struck by your preview photo, so I clicked on you first! You just look simply amazing, and I want the entire ensemble!!
ReplyDeleteI think as bloggers, we are always way too overanalytical over our own photos. I am guilty of this, tooo! Not having a "blog-worthy" outfit on is probably my worst quality blogging. But I htink you look gorgeous!! I love that dress and blouse together- they're perfect!
ReplyDeleteI agree wholeheartedly with maggeygrace. bloggers are overtly critical, and I am no different. I think eventually you'll come around and see that you actually did look fantastic. but despite you not feeling groovy you look great in this outfit, the dress and layered blouse are terrrific.
ReplyDeleteOMG this is the perfect vintage outfit! You look adorable. :) I love it because it reminds me of my favorite television show, That Girl (from the 60s). The main character, Ann Marie, would totally have worn something like this! You look awesome!
ReplyDeletethat dress looks amazing:D
ReplyDeleteperfect!
Damn girl look at your curves! This dress is so flattering on you! Love love love!
ReplyDeleteIt's a really sweet outfit, and I really like how the two colors look against each other. :D
ReplyDeleteAww, I think this is such a pretty outfit! You look so adorable- I'm sure you made the most wonderful first impression on your new boss!
ReplyDeleteI love this groovy dress and it fits you perfectly. The blouse underneath works so well!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so great! Your hair matches your shirt! I like the layering a lot and the detail of the bodice jumps out!
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding? You look super hot in this dress! If you don't want it I'll have it. I love the feminine military look. Xx
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw your first photo here before I even read what you wrote, I thought to myself, "gosh, Nicole looks amazing!". You really do have a killer hourglass figure & that dress totally showcases gorgeously:). The dress is one of my favorites for sure.
