Independence Day

DSC_0027

So, here in the United States, it's independence day, so to those of you who celebrate, happy fourth of July! I don't generally do much to celebrate on the fourth of July, but I figured I would dress up in the only red garment currently in my closet and go take pictures by the American flag mural by my house. I ended up only with stripes in the background since the stars had been graffitied (patriotism!), but that's fine with me. I may end up using this wall ad the backdrop for future photos now. Also, it's worth mentioning that while taking these photos I had the most embarrassing Marilyn Monroe-esque moment. It was bad. This skirt is so full and has so much fabric that once the wind caught it, all hope was lost. Oh well. At least my underwear are blue, thus completing my patriotic outfit.

  3. I love that dress! I drooled over it at H&M back in London and now keep seeing it in some blogs and drooling a bit more.
Your 4th of July outfit is wonderful and so is the background. I completely support the idea of becoming a regular background for your outfit shots.
    Happy 4th of July!

  17. How can this be your only red item in your closet? You look SOOO good in this dress Nicole! The print and the fit is so wonderful on you! I can't wait to see how else you style this dress--as a top, as a skirt...ahh the possibilities are so endless! As for the Marilyn Monroe moment...that's why I usually wear biker shorts underneath to avoid that hehe :)

  23. hahaha, I´ve had quite a lot of Marylin moments myself. I live close to the ocean, so it´s really windy all year round, and most of my dresses are full as well. So I can sympathize dear. And I absolutely love your dress. I am a sucker for red, and that dress is just perfect.
I hope you had a nice independence day.

  26. I LOVE love love this dress. You look great in it! That's the problem with full skirts. We love 'em to death but we have to be constantly paying attention to make sure we're not flashing anyone. That's why I always wear a pair of shorts whenever the skirt is full or a little on the short side.
