Got To Admit It's Getting Better

Hello there! I'm so happy that it's Friday! This week has been stressful, and this weekend is not going to be a picnic or cake walk of any sort, as everything for the semester really should get finished today! I finished one seventeen page paper earlier today, now I need to make my poetry chapbook, and write my Aristotle paper (SO EXCITED. No, really. Okay, just no.). That's really not so much to do, so hopefully all will go smoothly...or at least smoothishly? I apologize for this paragraph having sort of turned into a to do list! I guess I'm just really focussed on work or something. Yeah, that must be it..

This outfit felt very retro to me once I put it together. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I think it has to do with the shape and length of the skirt, which feels kind of sixties to me. So, I couldn't help myself and put on a pair of my mom's old glasses to complete the feel. It's actually kind of appropriate that I dressed in a retro way to end the week, because this week has been very Beatles-oriented. Over the weekend, I discovered, or re-discovered, my mom's old Beatles records and played them over and over. I love the grainy, real, sound that comes from a record. It's just wonderful in a way I can't describe. Then, of course, Wednesday marked the anniversary of John Lennon's assassination, so I tried to soak up as much music as I could that day as well. The Beatles are really magic, and when I really listen to them I come away in awe of how important their music is. What are some of your favorite Beatles songs?

Sweater, Skirt, Boots: UO

I may just have another giveaway in the works for tomorrow, so be on the lookout for that!

Until tomorrow,
Nicole

  2. This is fabulous! I love the colors and the glasses were a perfect touch. It definitely has retro vibes.

The Beatles' music is incredible. It's hard to pick favorites but I love While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Long Long Long (George is my favorite!), Don't Let Me Down, Hide Your Love Away, and No Reply among many more. hehe I told you it was hard to choose!

Lately I've actually been into Paul's solo stuff. I've always loved George's solo career and John had some awesome music too, but I had never really listened to much of Paul's. I've come to realize that RAM is one of the best albums of all time. Pure awesome.

PS Just noticed you listed Dead Poets Society as a favorite movie- isn't that film incredible?! LOVE. Ok sorry for the wicked long comment. xo

  10. I love the colors in this outfit!! Its super cute!! And that scarf is fabulous! And I always enjoy the Beatles! I don't have a particular favorite, but I do enjoy "I am the Walrus" (and then I usually think about Ferris Bueller's Day Off...). Good luck with Aristotle! (It sounds like it could be worse, it could be about Plato, but I guess that's because I always thought Plato was a punk! :) ). Er, anyway, good luck with your paper and your finals!! :)
