Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim

I'm sorry, but when I realized I was wearing corduroy and denim in these photos, I just had to use that David Sedaris book as my post title. So now that nerdy apologies are out of the way, I suppose I should just jump right in to describing my outfit here. Yesterday I had a long day at school, so I wanted to be comfortable but put together. I put this outfit together, was happy, and went on my merry way to school. But, alas. Once I got to school, the temperature dropped ten degrees and the skies opened up, and I found myself dressed quite inadequately. That's one of the bad things about commuting: if I spill something on myself or if the weather decided to be all "screw you, lame-wad" I can't just go back to my dorm and change. I would have to drive home and back, which is a hassle I don't often feel like dealing with. Oh, well! So, don't envy me for my ability to go tights-less, because I was freezing and grumpy, and I doubt that you want to be freezing and grumpy. Also, sorry that these pictures are mostly a blurry mess. My camera joined the weather in saying "screw you lame wad" and would only take blurry photos for me, possibly because it was raining during this photo session.

Top/Dress, Jean Jacket: Salvation Army
Skirt: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Steve Madden

Until tomorrow,

  1. I always end up dressing wrong for the weather. It seems to go from sunny and warm to cold and rainy so quickly in the spring. Regardless, this outfit is so cute! I've never owned a jean jacket but I think they look great paired with solid, colorful bottoms!

  2. K I was totally going to comment about how jealous I am of your bare legs until you went ahead and told me not to :) Well maybe the weather will heat up for both of us soon. I hate it when my camera gets grumpy on me! But we can still tell you look adorbs ;)

  4. Haha... poor you! I guess you could keep a spare pair of tights in your car/bag?

I tried on that same skirt at UO, and wanted it... but was on a major budget at the time. Oh well, I guess I can enjoy it on you. Corduroy is one of my all-time favourite fabrics!

  7. Denim and corduroy looks so good together! I must find something corduroy for Spring/Summer! :) I think it's a great idea to keep an extra sweater or pair of tights in your car so when mother nature becomes bipolor you're ready! :)

That sucks about the weather changes, I agree with Emily, you could keep a spare pair of tights in your bag to avoid frozen legs?
