Hello there! So, today was my first ever poetry reading! It really has been a pretty surreal day. I was nauseatingly nervous before I went on, but once I went up on stage to read, I was much less worried than I thought I would be. It felt natural in some strange way I suppose. It was a really great experience, and I'm happy I pushed myself this week with practicing and such (I'm also so happy the poetry festival committee chose me to be a part of the festival). Now, the thought of writing a new poem feels scary and daunting, because I think I'm putting too much pressure on myself, but I'm trying to keep those thoughts out of my head, and the positive ones in. After my reading, we all headed to a lovely restaurant near my college for a lovely (filling) meal, and now I'm home, sleepy and in a weird happy and terrified daze, finishing up the last of the macarons my sister brought me from the city.
Just a note, I've been terrible with commenting lately, since this weekend has been both stressful and busy, but I will try my best to get back to you all soon. Your support this weekend has made me feel so amazingly happy, and I can't thank you guys enough.

ReplyDeleteYou found that THRIFTNG???????????Why don't I have your luck. Seriously. I was expecting an overly priced $70 Modcloth dress or soemthing. But I'm so happy that you did it and that it went so well! I knew you could:)!
