You can't see it very well, but this skirt has a galaxy pattern on it. I've wanted a skirt with a starry sky print on it for ages, but couldn't find one, so I decided to try and make one. Honestly, my grandmother did most of the work, since it was my first sewing project, but I'm so thrilled with it, and thankful for her help. She's kind of a magician when it comes to sewing, and dating advice, which you would know if you follow me on twitter. I bought a fabric that's white and covered in black keys (not The Black Keys, just black keys, but a skirt covered in The Black Keys would be cool too) so hopefully I get an opportunity to make a skirt out of that soon, too!
I wore this out to lunch with a wonderful friend of mine for a much needed catch up session. We spent a few hours eating healthy food (since we're both on Weight Watchers again) and just filling each other in on the ridiculous amount of things that have happened since we last talked. I love easy conversation and old friends.
Until tomorrow,
Nicole
That hat is wonderful! I have to say, one of my favorite things about you as a blogger is how you remix your clothes. It seems to me that you really have a collective and full wardrobe whereas I seem to wear something different everyday and don't have a consistent "style". I LOVE YOUR BOOTS.
ReplyDeleteHoly galaxy, batman! I love love love this outfit! Seriously, it is my new favorite outfit of yours. I love the lace over that skirt. And I love that skirt. Can I have this outfit jshdjaksd it's gorgeous! <3 I, too, have always wanted a starry skirt (or some other kind of nebula-inspired piece of clothing...) so maybe I'll try to make one in the future like you. :)
ReplyDeleteOOOoo It's SO cool!! Have your gramma make me one!! hehe Seriously though, I need to learn how to sew.
ReplyDeleteI still really, really want that lace top. And I would love to be able to make my own clothes. Alas, neither belong to me. (:
ReplyDeletethe skirt definitely POPS! i love the electric blue. :) the colors in this outfit are lovely, over all! x
ReplyDeleteI love this! Especially the skirt. And especially because you DIWYGH! That made giggle :]
ReplyDeleteGreat job with the skirt!! You're so lucky you have a great grandma to help you out with that stuff :)
ReplyDeleteYou are adorable! I love the DIWYGH label... my grandma was a seamstress and knew how to sew anything. Now my aunt has adopted that role! I guess it's not very new, but I haven't visited your blog in a while and need to let you know I love your haircut.
ReplyDeleteoh goshhhhhhhhh seriously, i can't tell you how much i love this outfit. i seriously ADORE galaxy patterns on anything and when i saw your skirt i gasped, haha. your top is so adorable too! you're just heaps of cute. :)
ReplyDeletethat top is too perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove the DIWYGH, the new acronym and esp that you had some great family bonding time and made this super rad skirt- great choice w/ that fabric! Love how you paired it w/ that sweet top & then boots. You look fantastic in that hat too! So you on weight watchers before? What did you think of it, or why did you stop? It seems to help many but counting calories for the rest of your life... eeek the thought sounds rather crummy. Best of luck w/ it though, even though you look absolutely fantastic!

Oh my, so gorgeous!! My grandma was a sewing genius too...how I miss her lovely dresses. Excellent choice of fabric. I most definitely wouldn't mind one of those for myself:)...the whole outfit is darling!!
ReplyDeleteAh! clearly I haven't been on blogger in forever, you cut your hair! It looks absolutely stunning ;) and the hat adds all the flair in the world! I love everything about this outfit basically, you look like a cutie pie and I love every second of it haha. You're lucky having your grandma helping you out with sewing projects, my gran lives in the Dominican Republic and the only thing she ever helps me with is gaining weight from the amount of food she's constantly trying to shove in my mouth ha!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this outfit! So adorable! The galaxy print on the skirt is so unexpected with the lace! I'm a proud new follower :)

ReplyDeleteReading your grandma's dating advice on twitter brightens my day! Of course having something with The Black Keys in it would be AWESOME! And that skirt is so cute! I am amazed your grandma helped you made it because it's so adorable. I would've never thought that it was DIYed!
