Great Lengths

DSC_0024

When I walked downstairs to go put on my coat and head out for outfit photos, I heard my dad's voice, booming from the recliner, go, "WOW, I mean, WOW. That one's gotta go on yaw fashin blahhg!" So, here I am, at his bequest. Not really, though. I think he was just a fan of this outfit due to the modest hemline that most of my skirts and dresses scoff at. I had been wanting to try a longer length skirt for a while, and when I saw this skirt in the big Modcloth sale for 20 bucks, I figured it was worth a shot. I'm actually a big fan of it. It may make me look short or whatever, but I'm more a fan of the concept "wear whatever the hell you want" as opposed to "wear what flatters your body," or at least I'm trying to be. Plus the tag said that the color of this skirt was "waterfall biscuit," and how can you go wrong with waterfall biscuit?

  1. That's actually a super cool midi skirt. The pattern is interesting and I don't think you look shorter. (: I'm amused that your dad said something about it, hehe.

  6. you're so precious, eeppp. i'm trying to follow that 'wear what you want' rule vs 'flattering'. i usually only wear short things, because i'm afraid anything grazing the knee and below makes me look... bad? but you're inspiring me! i should go wear my long granny dresses now! hopefully i look as cute as you.

  9. IT'S SO COOL. You look great. I've really been wanting to try a longer length skirt too but I haven't been able to find anything at the thrift stores lately (and unfortunately my budget is limited to thrifting only). Your necklace is really, really pretty too. Also.. waterfall biscuit?? hahaha

you look beautiful. i didn't see this on the sale. darn. :)
i am DEFIANTLY a "wear whatever the hell i want" type of person.
i now that the majority of the time i wear pieces that do not always flatter my body type and i do not care. :)

  11. Great lengths indeeed!

Besides the mesmerizing name of the skirt (Waterfall Biscuit!) this outfit is fantastic! Really enjoying the color palate :) and that saying you put "wear whatever you want" vs. "wear what flatters your body" is something i've been doing for the past few years. It's interesting to switch back and forth lol

    Cheers

It's so cute that your dad knows about and encourages your blog like that hehe. Somehow my blog is still sort of a secret from my parents :) Anyway, I don't think this skirt makes you look short at all! This definitely flatters and it's what you wanted to wear too! So win win!

  15. I feel like my mom has probably said that to me about my outfit before. "Is that for the blog? If not, you should take pictures of it anyway!". Parents are always right. haha
I think that skirt flatters you quite well because of the vertical lines. It's like having little arrows pointing up and making you look tall!

  16. Well I agree with your dad ^^ this skirt is awesome and looks great on you. I also like how the patches on your sweater match the "waterfall biscuit" color! I am too a fan of the "wear whatever the hell you want" concept, but girl, this is a win-win, 'cause this skirt is also very flattering on you.
Oh and I love that you decided to put what you're reading on your blog column!

  17. You rock both long and short skirts love. And this one reminds me of Backgammon. You look awesome with a slight curl in your hair chicka.
