Sunshine Day

29 5

Yesterday was fairly slow. I got up nice and early (I'm starting to do that more often now), got a library card (I lost my first one many years ago), and took a trip to target. I also scheduled an appointment to dye my hair. I'm sure you guys recall my whining about my streaky hair. Today, I'm going to get it all dyed lighter, hopefully a light honey-ish brown, as long as I speak up for what I want this time around. I'm a bit terrified because I've never dyed all of my hair, and the hairdresser was all, "we'll have to cross our fingers since a lot of times when you go from dark to light the hair takes on an orangey tint." So, yeah. A little terrified over here, but I really hope it works out! Have any of you gone lighter? I could use the encouragement!

(Nota Bene: This photo is so strange. It doesn't even look like those are my hands in the picture due to the focus. Ah well, at least you can see my nail polish. Or is it someone else's nail polish?! Dun dun dun...)

  1. I dyed my own hair all a bit lighter a few months back. But I was super timid in color choice, since I did not, did not, did NOT want to be blondish at all. Plus, to go lighter, I have to bleach my hair a bit. Which is not happy.

Can't wait to see your new color :D Love all of the blues in your outfit. So sweet and summery with the floral pattern and lace top.

  2. yeap i did , i requested for ginger and it turn out goldish , which horrifies me. :)

love your brunette hair but i am also excited to see your new color

as for me i am planning to go darker lol maybe i will dye my hair black again to look natural, plus my hair is so brittle and dry now i wouldn't wanna waste time to re color the black roots.

  3. Love the nail polish. Navy and yellow are good together! I hope you hair turns out well. Any time I've tried to dye mine it turns out looking purple/burgundy so I gave up a long time ago!

  4. Orangey, smorangey. It's still better than having something you don't want. I hate condescending hairdressers. I told one once that I wanted my bangs "feathered," and she said she didn't understand what I was talking about and gave me the worst haircut ever. PFff.

  5. Oh Nicole, I went through a terrible hair-dye experience the day after my birthday! I was so upset... but just remember, even if it does turn orangey (mine did! I was trying to go golden brown!), you can always redye it with a demi permanent hairdye to stain the blond-ish orange to more natural color.

Of course, I just know your hair will be lovely, but there is hope if you aren't happy!!! :)

  6. Loving the lace with the denim :) Will need to try that one day. Good luck with your hair! I remember as a kid, I would dye my hair red and it would eventually turn orange, but that's only because Asian hair is super hard to dye. I don't think you'll have any problem :) I cannot wait to see!!!

  8. You are making me want to bust out my denim vest again! I love the nail polish too, perfect color!

I have died my hair soooo many times. Lighter colors can fade, just keep that in mind. You might want a shade or two darker so it fades lighter. I can't wait to see it!

  9. I saw your newly dyed hair and I don't know if it's the photo quality, but I think it looked quite nice! It's not a huge change so it didn't seem weird at all.

Oh, I sent you an email, but I think the email I sent it to was your school email as that was the only address I could find on your Blogger profile.

  10. Lovelovelovelovelove this outfit! It kind of reminds me of how an elementary school girl would dress. It's simple, but it's extremely reminiscent of the Good Ol' Days when all we cared about was going to the playground and drawing with crayons, haha. ♥

Also, I can't wait to see your hair color! Fingers crossed for you!
