Good Enough

DSC_0039edit

I wasn't going to post these photos. I've been going back and forth on them since I took them a few hours ago and ultimately decided to put them up. The reason I was going to delete them is because I didn't think they were good enough for my blog. Typing that statement, I feel like a bit of an idiot. It's my blog, so nothing that I create should be "unworthy" of being presented here. I always say that I try very hard to make this a "daily style blog," and I don't want it to become a "I'm only going to post when I'm real dolled up blog." I find myself constantly wondering, though, if my casual outfits (like today's) should be posted. The simple answer is, "yes!" because this is my blog, started to document my own fashion journey, and there will be days when I just throw on a blouse and shorts and call it a day. I find myself constantly thinking, though, that my casual outfits aren't "special/interesting/strange" enough. While that's a whole lot of phooey, it still gets to me sometimes, and every now and then I won't post an outfit because, frankly, it's not dressy or cool enough. Do you guys ever feel this way? Like there's a pressure you put on yourself sometimes to pretty yourself up just because you've got a blog to take pictures for?

  2. I love the coral top! It really is the perfect color on you. I'm glad you posted these photos...it's always fun to see the more casual side of bloggers:)

  3. I don't think an outfit needs to be really complicated to be pretty. The blouse is absolutely lovely, and the simplicity is what I think makes this outfit so cute!

  4. Yeah, I definitely feel that pressure, especially as a newer blogger. But you're right, it's silly, and I love seeing other bloggers in simpler, very realistic outfits. There's still style at work in those kinds of outfits, anyway...in the case of this outfit you're wearing, it's cool to see a pretty top dressed down with shorts and sandals.

  5. While I don't feel pressure per say I do feel like some of my outfits feel a little boring. But, at least they are honest ;) I'm not perfect, and I like all sorts of inspiration.

  6. My blog is by no means a daily style blog as you define it. I do two to three photoshoots a week, and I do make an effort to wear my favourite outfits of the week on the days when I do them. Frankly, the rest of the time, I often wear the same thing three days in a row. If I worked, I guess I wouldn't, but I don't see the point in dressing up every day for my computer.

Anyway, I think you look just fine The blouse is a very pretty colour; it's hot out, take a break!

  7. That blouse is SO pretty! I have the "not blog worthy" talks to myself all the time. You just gotta talk yourself out of it and do it! I LOVE seeing casual. It's a nice change from seeing everyone looking always perfect and dressed up in their skirts and dresses! We can't all be dolled up every day! Casual= normal!

  8. I never feel like any of my outfits are "good enough" to be blogged. I don't feel like anyone would really be inspired by them. Still, it's what I wear so sometimes I like to post it. I guess that's why I've gotten away from posting strictly outfit blogs. I want to write about what I'm doing more, anyways.

  10. I totally disagree, I think an outfit that you might consider simple can still be inspiring to others. For example, I really love this outfit and I think it is unique...the high-waisted shorts (love 'em), the loose top (the shape and color are so in) and the cute flat sandals...all a way to dress comfortably but still not wear a baggy tshirt and sweats!

  12. You are so inspiring Nicole dear, especially in this super casual look. I beat myself up so many times through out the weeks to post good content/good outfits, but you are so right. It is our blogs and we can post what we want. But in any case, even in this outfit, you remain cute! I love that coral top and your sandals :) <3

  13. You know I thought the same about posting the pictures on my last post too, but then what the hell, it is my blog and I'm not dolled up every day too, so a simple outfit have its place on the blog too. That said, I really love this top of yours so I'm glad you posted this :)

  15. Dude! I love the blouse! I need some more in my life!!

And you should post your little heart away haha! I feel like posting what you wore is giving a visual cue to remember that day by, doesn't have to be fancy or the most in fashion thing. It's who you were that day and what you looked like. So post casual, post fancy. I'll always be reading!

  16. I feel that way all the time-- honestly, I have so many outfits that have never been posted because I'm always trying to one-up myself.. Ick. I need to snap out of that!

That being said, you look absolutely beautiful. Coral looks lovely on you, and these shots are amazing. xo

  17. i feel this way all the time. and when i dress more 'casual' i still think about how it'd look if i blogged it, but i'm usually busy that day and forget to take a photo. but i'm wanting to make it more of a daily style blog.

  18. I totally know what you mean and props to you for being honest about it! I do have a few outfit pics just sitting on my computer for this very reason. On the other hand, I created a “work week Wednesdays” segment just for this reason, to challenge myself to wear what I want my style to be like more often to work, even if it may mean getting funny looks from coworkers! But either way, you look great, certainly blog-worthy!! Your top is adorable, the color & pleating look great on you and make it so much more original than a jeans and T casual look (which can of course still be super cute!). It’s always great to see cute, casual outfits since that’s what most of us often wind up in.
