At Our Italian Restaurant

IMG_6221edit

Yesterday Zak and I decided to go on a real live date. We very rarely do this sort of thing, since neither of us currently have jobs and I feel a bit guilty spending tons of money too often. Mostly we just hang out at each other's houses, play video games, watch movies, take walks, that sort of stuff that I really like to do. We were planning on doing dinner and a movie, but decided to skip the movie because it would have cost us $15 dollars per person, which was ridiculous. We decided to just do what we do best and spend a cozy night taking a walk (on which I saw bunnies, a cat, sandpipers, and a deer) and just hanging out. Luckily, dinner was awesome. We went to this Italian restaurant in the neighborhood neither of us had been to, got a table outside (which I've always wanted to do, but whenever I suggest these things to my family they call me crazy and rush inside the air conditioned restaurant), and ate delicious food. I had gnocchi bolognese for dinner, than nutella gelato for dessert, and Zak had chicken cutlets, than strawberry gelato. Ahh, so good!

In regards to clothes, I think it's funny I ended up in jeans on a date night, when I wear skirts and dresses all the time for no reason. Oh well. I spent the morning at the mall and wanted to be comfortable, so for dinner I kept the jeans but just cleaned myself up a bit and kept things simple.

  1. You look so cute in those jeans! They're from UO? I need to find a good pair. Sounds like your date night was really fun. The food sounds great! I think it's funny you never eat outside because i eat outside ALL of the time in the summer! You should come to NH and we'll eat outside at my family's restaurant. :P

  2. Whenever I want to go out and see a movie I redbox it. I just can't justify spending $12 or even more on a one time movie! It's ridiculous!

Also I really like this outfit. Simple yet cute and different : )

  3. The date sounds really fun (and I hate how expensive movie tickets are!). :D
I think it's a really cute outfit for a date; it's casual but still looks a bit dressy. :)

  4. Aww! I always feel weird going on "real" dates when I see Robert a lot and go on mini-dates (ie. movies, lunch, etc) all the time! It's good though to change it up from time to time. You looked so cute though! On these date nights, I too go for comfort rather than wear a dress or skirt hehe. Can't wait to see what you ended up buying from the mall!

  5. aw that sounds really cute! I love going out to restaurant dates. James and I go to the movies so often but I like free dates so much better anyway! Walking around, going to the park, etc. I think it's great that you like to do inexpensive things... especially playing video games because that's awesome. And it made the dinner date extra special because it's something you don't get to do too often.

  11. I love gnocchi so much, and since reading your post I think I might have to go out for gelato! Yayy for date nights, and double yayy for sitting outside (your family are crazy, btw). ; )

I've been wearing jeans a lot recently, especially to more evening-y events. I just don't want any fuss and they work welll with a pretty blouse. Your look is lovely.

  14. Sometimes simplicity is perfection in fashion. Great outfit! And I've never had it but it sounds soooo good.

I plan on re-reading all the HP books before the final movie, too! I always do that before a new movie comes out. Kind of like re-preparation :D
