Time Is A Mouth To Feed

DSC_0445

On Friday I met up with one of my friends from high school, Lissette, for a nice lunch in the city. It was really great catching up with her for a few hours. It's always really refreshing to see someone from your past as the same, wonderful person they were when you last met with them. Lissette is one of the most real people I know. Her honesty is a breath of fresh air, and I really loved talking about the past and what we've both been up to in the past year. One of the most important things we talked about is relationships, mainly friendships, and keeping people close to you only if they deserve your love and trust. I've had some struggles with friends in the past years, mostly in high school, and this is something I struggle with. But after a good talk on Friday, and a lot of past struggles, I'm determined to try and surround myself only with people who really care about me.

Of course, we were so busy chatting (and eating lemon ricotta pankcakes!) that I have no pictures, but I did take outfit pictures once I got back home, so here are those. I wanted to wear something bright and fun, and this dress fit the bill. Was it a bit warm for a long knit vest? Of course. Did that stop me? Of course not.

Oh! And before I forget, I added a few more items to my blog shop. So go and check those out if you like :)

  4. Meeting old friends after some time apart is such a great thing! I did the same a few weeks ago at a friend's wedding and it was amazing!

I really like this outfit! It's so nice to see a lovely colourful dress and a mustard vest! And like you made us used to, you little details in the accessories are always the perfect touch.

  8. what a pretty outfit with bright colors!
i can relate on the whole relationship thing. when the time comes that i move away for college, i plan on creating a friend base with true friends that sincerely care. i'm so sick of seeing these fake friends in highschool...it's horrible.

i love your hair up, by the way!

  10. That vest really changes the look of the dress (in a good way). I keep wearing outfits that are slightly too warm for the weather, but whatever! Friendships are interesting because you think you have more than you do but once the convenience aspect falls away, people start to fade out of your life.

  11. This dress is so so cute! Your yellow nails complement it perfectly :)

Great friends are what make our life rich. They are rare and valuable and we should feel blessed everyday for having them in our lives!

    Have a great week Nicole!

  15. This is such a pretty transition outfit for summer -> fall. Love the colors and the long long vest. I have a similar one that I'm not super tempted to drag out. Though it's black...

I can definitely relate to the friends thing. Over the last few years, I've grown apart from a lot of people but in the process have figured out who is important to me.
