Watching America Roll By

DSC_0432-1

Though I'm back from my Cape Cod trip as of yesterday, these photos are from when I was still on the cape. I was a bit conflicted about going on the trip, as you may remember, but I'm so happy I went. I got to spend a week with my truly incredible boyfriend, swim in the lake nearly every day, and sit on the dock staring up at the brilliant stars at night. And, of course, the mini golf. I'm coming to the conclusion that I love traveling so much because I so dislike where I currently live. This neighborhood, and probably state, is just not the right fit for me. Do I know where the right fit for me is? Nope, though I do have a few places in mind. Every time I visit somewhere new, or further explore a place I've just scratched the surface of, I get so excited to be figuring out piece by piece where exactly I want to make my home. Or, at least, my second one. All I want to do right now is get back on the road and drive somewhere new, playing really good music, with the best company as my co-pilot. Of course, I can't do that just yet. Hopefully soon, though, I'll be exploring a new location, even if it's just briefly.

  1. SO angry with blogger for disappearing my last comment....

As I was saying, I kind of know how you feel. I quite love Vancouver but kind of hate it too and don't want to live there... anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed Cape Cod; it sounds like a wonderful place...

  2. I know what you mean. It's nice to get a break from where you're from sometimes. I feel like every town has its unique features and eventually you'll find a place that's perfect for you. This dress is still one of my favorites! I'm jealous that you're anywhere you can wear a jacket. So sick of 110 degrees.

  5. I agree completely on your travelling views! I always dread the time leading up to it, but end up loving being away from home. (i'm not too fond of my state either.) I'm from Massachusetts though, so I know the Cape is great! Love your dress, glad you had a good time!

  11. I've missed out on reading your blog for like a week but I see it's mostly Cape Cod and mini golf! That's not a bad way at all to be spending summer. I'm glad you had a nice time. :)

I can relate to wanting to just go out and travel. In fact, I was greatly reminded of it tonight when I was out for a driving practice. I got to make up my own route home, which I'm always up for, and it's just fun to explore new roads (if even just in my own town) and drive. It's something I can see myself getting used to! haha

This dress is so cute and the red is a great color on you! It seems like the perfect dress for twirling, and it seems that you did just that.

  12. This dress is so cute! Red is one of my least favorite colors to wear, but it looks so good on you! Also, I've definitely been loving all the song references in post titles lately! :)

  13. You look so cute with the horse print purse! I like how you remix pieces but they don't get repetitive at all. (I need to learn to do that better!)

Just wanted to drop in a word while I remembered, but do you think you'll be able to go to the Jazz Age Lawn party with me on the 24th or 25th?

Oh, and I really, really like your new header.

  16. I often feel the same way, I often think that Italy just isn't the right place for me to live in, even if I love my country.
Anyway I love your outfit! You look great.

  20. That dress is SO cute! I love red dresses & jean jackets. Perfect combo in my opinion. Also, if you want to drive and explore a new place, why don't you drive up to New Hampshire? ;)
