Hello there! Like I mentioned in my last post, New York is super melty hot right now, and I find myself getting up in the morning and just not wanting to get dressed. While I certainly don't want to galavant around in the nude, I don't feel like putting a full fledged outfit together either. So, I've pretty much just been reaching for light, comfy dresses and keeping the styling quite simple, like in this very outfit for example.
For those of you who follow me on twitter, you may have seen that some road raging jerk made obscene gestures at me after I guess I cut him off? I don't even know. But, anyway, it made me cry. A lot. I mean, it's not like this weekend hasn't been easy/lacking stress, and I certainly didn't need a jerk making threatening gestures at a very non-threatening me, but the point is that I got so very upset over it. Things like this happen all the time, but when they happen to me, I tend to take them personally. I've always been an extremely sensitive person. I try to help out whoever I can and when I think I've wronged someone, even a stranger, I feel absolutely terrible. So, when things like this happen, I take them seriously and personally, even though I know I shouldn't. Is anyone else like this? Or am I the lone ranger here? (Fact: I often use the phrase "lone ranger" when I have never even seen the lone ranger character/show/etc).
Oh! Also, the wonderful Vanessa of My Heart Blogged featured me today! So a big thank you to her :)
Dress: Swap with Amber Rose
Hat: Modcloth
Sandals: Nordstrom

Until tomorrow,

ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely beautiful. This dress was made for you, and I'm so glad to see you wearing it. You're looking lovelier and lovelier these days.
I'm so terribly sorry about that ass of a driver. I've had really rude drivers yell/flip me off, and I've cried before, too.
xoxoxo
Lovely outfits and photos! As for the road rage jerk, some people just fly off the handle at anything. I'm sorry you took it personally, but really that guy has already forgotten what happened. Buck up champ:)
ReplyDeleteUm, how dare he be such a jerk when you're dressed so cute? Ha. Just kidding. It's like you can see much of someone's outfit when they're in a car. Even if you did sort of cut him off, it's sort of sad that he flipped out on such an extreme level.I wouldn't worry about it... though I'm the exact same way.
ReplyDeleteI love this not-full fledged outfit and cannot wait until I can wear similar ones too :)
luckily it's not that not over here in california yet, but oh gosh, once it does, that's all i'll be wearing.
ReplyDeletei'm so sorry you had such a horrible experience! :( i think that kind of thing happens to us all at some time or another. it's definitely happened to me! i recommend a magnum bar and a good chick flick to cheer you up! (at least, those cheer me up when my emotions/nerves are frayed.) ;) i love this look on you! very cool and summery!
ReplyDeleteLovely dress! I love the floral print, it's a nice balance of large flowers with out being too loud and crazy. It looks gorgeous on you!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that :( people can sometimes take driving too seriously. They get mad at the silliest things, especially people like the person you mention. Don't let them ruin your day! they suck and are just too darn bitter!
ReplyDeleteLove your casual outfit! :)
x, I
Your dress has such a pretty print! I love the hat with this outfit. Drivers can be sooo rude (and scary). There is no excuse for him to have done that to you! Clearly his life is suckin' big time if he freaked out so much over a very minor mishap on the road. No one can drive perfectly all the time!
ReplyDeleteI take it personally, too-- I'm sorry you were so sad! You look so adorable, and I love you!!
ReplyDeletei definitely know what you mean about not wanting to dress up when its super hot!! i get like that around summer time too!! i love your dress btw <3 it looks fantastic on you, especially with the hat!!
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning in this dress! And I wish I looked that good in hats! xx
ReplyDeleteI definitely cry when people do things like that, and then I get enraged that it can make me cry, and then I cry more. As I get older though, I've taken to telling them they're assholes in no uncertain terms before I run away to cry. But I do have a pretty bad temper.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely here. You have a never ending supply of sweet dresses it seems. : )
You look lovely! I'm jealous of the 'melty hot' weather in NY! That dude that made a gesture at you is an idiot.. and try not to waste your time worrying over people like that :)

Such a cute dress! You look lovely!
ReplyDeleteI was insanely rattled and stressed a while back, and as I pulled out of my parking space I accidently crunched the corner of the car in front of me - with the man actually sitting stationary in the drivers seat! He got out and I must have had this look of horror on my face as I felt the blood rush to it and my eyes swell and well with tears. I immediately apologised profusely and wanted to exchange details so I could pay for the damage (though it was barely a graze). He said go, go! don't worry about it, and so I drove down the road and round the corner, and pulled over..and sobbed so hard..!! Sucks huh. You look completely gorgeous, I hope I can wear Summer dresses as well as you do! But getting through Winter is rough right now, running in the chilly air and chimney smoke!
ReplyDeleteI'm really sensitive too and I take everything personally. I also tend to over-think things. :/ Love your whole outfit! You have on the cutest accessories!
ReplyDeletePretty dress!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUSSSSSSSSSSSSS. The hat and the dress are so perfect together! I hope you feel better about that incident real soon. I'm pretty sensitive myself. I cry in a lot of movies. Well, I cry easily in general (just ask Robert hahaha). Emotions are a beautiful thing. We just have more than others hehe!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, the lighting is so pretty and so is the dress! x
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this dress, and hat on you. I'm sorry about that guy. I used to be sensitive, and it's getting better with age. It's hard though hen you are already stressed, and someone makes you feel cruddy.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cute dress! Looks great on you. :)
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about the driving thing... I actually don't drive, but I'm super sensitive like that, too. I can't handle people being mad at me. :(
that dress is beautiful and the sandals are awesome! and about the nasty guy's gesture... I mean, I get upset about that kind of stuff too, but don't let it get to you. Stuff happens and who knows? maybe he had a rough day and it so happens he got mad at whomever passed him by, so yeah :( I hope you're better now :(
ReplyDeleteAw, this is so cute! Hat, glasses, and a gorgeous dress. The floral print is just perfect; not too much, not too little!
ReplyDeleteIt's been disgustingly hot, hasn't it? Regarding NY, are you going to be in the city any time near the end of June or July? Maybe we could hit up some vintage stores in SoHo or Nolita. I'm still pretty new here so you probably know more than I do :)
Sorry you're having sad time =( I hate road raging jerks. I usually just laugh at them. But just think you'll never see him again anyway and he sucks and you're awesome haha. Feel better. I love your dress and glasses so much. Such pretty, summer colors. Fabulousity.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you had to experience that douchebag on the road. I know it's tough but try to remember that this person doesn't know you, they don't know what a sweet, kind person you are. That jerk doesn't deserve your tears. :( I too tend to be very sensitive sometimes, I'm trying to get better but it's no always easy for me either.

P.S. That dress is just so perfect!! I want!
Love your dress! And I'm right there with you taking things too seriously, but forget that guy he is a jerk:)
