Girl Sailor

DSC_0433
I'm really digging how some of my outfits lately (really only two recent ones, but still) have been applicable to the titles of Shins songs. But anyway, things have been busy busy busy. This weekend is fall break, which is really only two extra days off, but I've got a lot of work to do before then, and will probably have a lot of work to do during the break as well but, uh, at least I'll have more time to do it? Anyway, I plumb forgot about this sweater until I decided to go through and make a mental note of how many sweaters I have that still fit/aren't too ugly. This sweater used to be way too tight, but now it fits quite nicely. Also, it makes me feel like a sailor, which is a quality I admire in clothing. My grandmother gave me a bunch of her gaudy old jewelry the other day, and I was so excited that one of the items included was this fun cameo pin! I've been wanting cameo jewelry for a while now, and I can see myself wearing this one over and over again.

Sweater: Topshop, Skirt: Forever 21, Shoes: Urban Outfitters, Brooch: Grandma's

PS: grandmother's things are always the best, jewellery being the best of the best!

  2. You're silly- your outfits are constantly cute! And this one is no exception :)

Enjoy your fall break- even if it is short lived. Even the tiniest spans of time can prove useful and relaxing when there's no schoolwork involved.

  6. This is a great outfit! Some of my favorite colors. Are grandmas just full of old cameos? My Nana gave me a pretty rose and ivory one. I love it!

  9. I've been looking for a sweater just like that. And family heirloom jewelry are so precious. Though I am against the ivory business, I have five elephant charms made of ivory from decades ago that were given to me by my grandma.

  11. Oh I will wear this sometime in the Fall this year. You know it. Love stripes and I love mustard yellow! That sweater looks super cozy! Isn't it the best feeling to discover that a top that didn't fit you a while ago fits now? Ah!

  13. I like this theme, it's occuring in my life at the moment. Life in a port town on the verge of Summer comes with a Shins-heavy soundtrack :) If we had the same sized fingers I'd send you my cameo ring!
