Girl Sailor

I'm really digging how some of my outfits lately (really only two recent ones, but still) have been applicable to the titles of Shins songs. But anyway, things have been busy busy busy. This weekend is fall break, which is really only two extra days off, but I've got a lot of work to do before then, and will probably have a lot of work to do during the break as well but, uh, at least I'll have more time to do it? Anyway, I plumb forgot about this sweater until I decided to go through and make a mental note of how many sweaters I have that still fit/aren't too ugly. This sweater used to be way too tight, but now it fits quite nicely. Also, it makes me feel like a sailor, which is a quality I admire in clothing. My grandmother gave me a bunch of her gaudy old jewelry the other day, and I was so excited that one of the items included was this fun cameo pin! I've been wanting cameo jewelry for a while now, and I can see myself wearing this one over and over again.

Sweater: Topshop, Skirt: Forever 21, Shoes: Urban Outfitters, Brooch: Grandma's

Until tomorrow,

  1. You look amazing, Nicole! I really like the stripped jumper and mustard skirt combo, and the cameo brooch only makes it better. I really love the outfit!
PS: grandmother's things are always the best, jewellery being the best of the best!

  2. You're silly- your outfits are constantly cute! And this one is no exception :)

Enjoy your fall break- even if it is short lived. Even the tiniest spans of time can prove useful and relaxing when there's no schoolwork involved.

  3. I ALWAYS love your outfits:) Shins titles or not- although that is neat! I love that sweater with the mustard skirt. I may needs to try that one out!

  4. look at you, all twirly and cute. i love stripes and mustard together :D

  5. Love that last shot -SO pretty!! And I'm loving this outfit, I have such a thing for stripes paired with mustard hued skirts -such a lovely fall look! xo veronika

  6. This is a great outfit! Some of my favorite colors. Are grandmas just full of old cameos? My Nana gave me a pretty rose and ivory one. I love it!

  7. What a cute little sweater. The pin makes it even cuter :)

  8. Cute! I absolutely love brooches! I got a lot of mine from my mom, gotta love when things come back in style :]

  9. I've been looking for a sweater just like that. And family heirloom jewelry are so precious. Though I am against the ivory business, I have five elephant charms made of ivory from decades ago that were given to me by my grandma.

  10. love this outfit nicole. it is always a wonderful feeling rediscovering clothing in your closet. :)
    enjoy your fall break.

  11. Oh I will wear this sometime in the Fall this year. You know it. Love stripes and I love mustard yellow! That sweater looks super cozy! Isn't it the best feeling to discover that a top that didn't fit you a while ago fits now? Ah!

  12. Such a cute outfit! That sweater is lovely (and I agree with you: everything that makes me feel like a sailor is perfect!) and I love the skirt. Also, that brooch is wonderful!

  13. I like this theme, it's occuring in my life at the moment. Life in a port town on the verge of Summer comes with a Shins-heavy soundtrack :) If we had the same sized fingers I'd send you my cameo ring!

  14. love the stripes and the mustard skirt! totally adorable...it's so great when stuff fits that didn't used to! oooh and that cameo from your grandmother is gorgeous!

  15. Look at you. You're a doll!
I love the yellowy color of your skirt. It compliments sweet Autumn x

hugs (^.^) hope to hear from you *
