I just Get Through It

feb 28 2
This morning, I was planning on going to the gym, but after a rough night of barely-sleep, stress and allergies, burying my head in the covers for an extra hour was too tempting. Honestly, I would have preferred not to even get dressed this morning, but alas, while my campus is quite liberal, I don't think I'd be all that comfortable wearing underwear and a blanket to class. So, I don't really know how I wound up in an outfit that actually feels really me. I mean, on the one hand I think it reads "construction worker picnic in the middle of a JCPenney," on the other hand I think the quirky kind of icky mix of manly colors and fabrics but girly shapes reads "Nicole." Though, I have to say, it's weird seeing myself with my bangs pinned back. My bangs have been super stubborn lately, so I got fed up and put them in a time out today. Also, this "photoshoot" was ridiculous, or rather, I was acting ridiculous, so I think I'll caption what was going on in each picture.

Blouse: JCPenney, Vest: Goodwill, Skirt: H&M, Boots: Vintage

  1. You always have the best outfit descriptions. I also enjoyed the photo commentaries! I usually don't have cats around to distract me, but I am distracted by distant voices that seem to come from nowhere. I don't know if a ghosts follows me on a photo shoots or maybe it's just the way every voice in my neighborhood echoes. haha

I think your look is super chic! I've seen many vintage ads in magazines for like Levi's and stuff and this totally made me think of one of those.

  2. I kind of love this look. The skirt is awesome, and I love the little socks peeking out of your boots. I think it feels much more 'Nicole' and not at all 'Construction Worker' personally.

  3. Dude, I love this outfit. It's totally adorable lumberjack. I'm obsessed with that skirt, the shape is perfect. And you're making me want to pull out my denim vest. Your poses and descriptions are the best.

  5. YOU'RE ADORABLE. I LOVE THIS OUTFIT.
I'm sorry, but caps were necessary. I can't believe you just threw this on! I LOVE this outfit. It's definitely you and yet again, I want to steal the look. ;)

Also, you are hilarious. I tend to fall against lots of walls in my photos too...

  9. hahaha!~ Saw a lot of cats, hmmmm? Better than seeing a lot of people! I think I'm watched by squirrels a lot during the outfit picture taking process. I'm glad that you were able to get out of bed and not go to class in your underwear. ;) The fact that you can put together all these different pieces and make it works makes me jelly. You look great!~

  11. So silly Nicole....I really love this to bits! I saw a jean vest when out today at the Thrift and it immediately made me think of you and I was so so tempted to buy it...then I realized it was bedazzled in really weird places so I had to pass. You really have the best knack for layering your outfits...especially with wearing a skirt...which is always such a hard thing for me.
