Back in high school, when I bought my first pair of skinny jeans, I swore I would never wear bootcut or flare jeans again. I also swore that Green Day would always be my favorite band (and that I would marry Mike Dirnt), but hey, things change (though I still may have a little crush on Mike Dirnt). The funny things about these bootcut jeans is that while I think they make me look more mature, they also take me back to being a poorly dressed barely teen romping around in hoodies and a pony tail. I like these jeans a lot though, and I like to think a nautical sweater and eyelet blouse is just a teensy step up from a Bayside tee shirt, though, I'll be honest, my first instinct on how to style these was with a tee shirt, so watch out for that post! I'll have to dig up some old, unflattering photos just for the occasion.
Until tomorrow,
Nicole
My my my Nicole you look so mature and cute! Love love love the boots jeans on you! I felt the same way when I tried on skinny jeans, but you've peaked my interest on boot cut jeans ;) They're really flattering on you! I love that you tied that scarf around your neck too with the striped sweater. I'm so trying that the next time I wear a striped top and jeans :) Have a lovely rest of your Sunday Nicole! <3
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely in those jeans! Gosh I can't remember the last time I actually wore jeans!! I'm a dress kind of gal!

love this look! the detail of the blouse is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI was JUST talking to my mom today about trying to wear a different style of jean...i just feel like i don't have the legs for it. :(
ReplyDeletei really like this outfit on you! the styling of everything on top looks so interesting and cute! with the blouse popping out and the little necktie...adorable!
i would copy this outfit, but i just don't have any pants like this. maybe i should change that. :)
xx
Those jeans look great on you! They fit so perfect. And your little scarf tied like that is so asjdkahfgdsf you're so cute!~ just all the time. Eek.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay. I sort of can't pull any kind of jeans but flare jeans that have flat pockets on the back.
This post is awesome. Not only do you look super cute, but you totally reminded me of the jeans I used to wear. When I was really little I had a babysitter who wore really wide flare jeans, and when I was in middle school and high school, I thought that those were the coolest style of jeans EVER. I wore them all the time. With things like snarky t-shirts. I was cool. Anyway, I love the eyelet shirt peeking out of the striped sweater! And the way you tied that scarf is really really cute. :)
ReplyDeletethe jeans look lovely on you. i didn't wear skinny jeans until i was 19, but i'm also older than you. and i feel the same way! one day i'll bring them back.
ReplyDeletei swore i'd marry tom delonge at 13. and i only wore flares then.
This is endlessly chic with the eyelet and stripes and that little scarf. And I really like flared jeans... or I used to. I tried them on a few months ago and was sad that they weren't as flattering as I remembered. But they, or that least these ones, look awesome on you!
ReplyDeleteYour shirt is beyond adorable. I love how you added the scarf to spice things up.

I've always felt the same way about skinny jeans. The day I met them, I never wanted them out of my life. I have one non-skinny pair and I just can't like them for the life of me. But I want to change that and I'm looking around. I totally dig the ones that you have on! Dark wash is my all time favorite.
ReplyDeleteThis is so classic and pretty Nicole! Seeing this makes me want to hop into a pair of my old neglected jeans that sadly haven't' seen the light of day in years. Bootcuts and hoodies and my CBGB shirt remind me so much of high school. Haha...I think I'll just leave the latter two in 1999. I'm loving the nautical and eyelet combo...just the perfect thing to make jeans look chic!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! I love the striped sweater + eyelet shirt combo. So so so pretty. And the scarf adds such a fun/cute touch!!
ReplyDeleteI too tend to stick to skinny jeans. I have one bootcut pair, and I actually like them a lot, but I never know what shoes to wear them with. I live in flats and I think they look weird with flats...my gut instinct is to go with Converse...and a t-shirt...and a hoodie. And now I'm in college again, haha.
oh my gosh, i totally love this! the eyelet blouse under the stripes is amazing! cute scarf, too :)
ReplyDeleteThis trousers suit you so good!! Looks gorgeous!
