All This Weird Beauty

CSC_0080

After a very long Friday that included school, work, and a friend's 21st birthday, it was nice to have a leisurely Saturday to catch up with myself. Last week was quite a busy one, since I worked some extra hours and started going to the gym a few mornings a week, but it was a good week. I mean, nothing much happened, but I kind of did a bit of soul-rummaging (that feels more accurate than "soul searching"). On Friday, for the first time really ever, I felt happy with exactly who I was, as an individual person. For just a few minutes, while I was driving home as the sun was setting, singing along to Jack's Mannequin songs, I didn't feel hung up on the past, or the future, or a crush, for the first time since I can really remember. It was fleeting, but really freeing and extraordinary. Even though I've slipped back into normalcy, I plan on carrying that moment around with me to remind myself of what I'm capable of, because I think we all need to be reminded of our own incredible ability sometimes.

Long sleeve shirt, pants: H&M, Blouse: Borrowed from Chloe, Boots: Vintage

  5. I'm glad you've found a sense of normalcy amongst all the craziness you've been having. :) That sounds like such a relief! That big stump is such a great place for photos. I'd like to see you playing a flute on it like a little forest fairy or something, haha! The color palette of this outfit is so perfect!~

That is a really beautiful blouse. You should try to coax Chloe into giving it to you! It's just so lady like and YOU!

  9. i like the idea of soul rummaging. i need to do the same really soon. i've been feeling particularly funk-y. and not in a good disco way. but in the bad i don't want to do anything or be anywhere kind of thing. i need to reevaluate what i want etc.
