I've always been a big day dreamer. Sitting in a late afternoon lecture, sitting at my desk and blurring my gaze out the window, laying on the slatted wood of my back porch and staring up at the aluminum ceiling, driving a long stretch of monotonous highway (I should probably stop that last one). Sometimes it's nice to imagine, to let yourself get a little bit lost in what isn't real, but what could be. Lately my daydreams have been stuffed with summer day trips, chance encounters with cute boys at Barnes and Noble, lovey chit chats I'd like to partake in, flower picking and wide fields. Today I was at work by myself, and I'm not going to admit that a lot of day dreaming was happening, but I'm certainly not going to deny it. Though I wore this dress yesterday, it makes me think of dreaming and imagination and all of those delightful things. Oh, and I'm probably going to be wearing my hair like this every day now that the weather's warm and I've figured out how to braid this teensy hair of mine.
Until tomorrow,
Nicole

Oh I love this Nicole! I don't think that dress could be anymore perfect. It kinds of reminds of summer's and sherbet:) I'm such a day dreamer too....not to mention, I adore that song (as cheesy as it may be).
ReplyDeleteIn regards to your comment...don't feel bad! I have been the same way lately too. All this spring sunshine has had me out and about and running all around with little time to blog read as much either:)

That. Dress. Rules. I'm a little ashamed to admit that I haven't even been giving myself time to daydream lately. I kind of only fantasize at night right before bed.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is awesome, love the cut out back and the colours are fantastic! I'm so bad for spending all my time daydreaming, or procrastinating, or sleeping, in fact I am pretty sure I should be doing stuff all the time when I'm not (now would be the perfect example). Ah well.
ReplyDeleteOhhh I love that dress!!! When you come to visit me bring that dress so I can steal it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI spend a large percentage of my time staring into space, daydreaming, even when I'm with people. My friends are often asking me "Where were you just then?" because I zone out in the middle of conversations. haha. Also I like how you mentioned the highway because just the other night I was explaining to a friend that being alone in a car driving on a highway is so comforting to me because I can just zone out and daydream... I have a feeling he will be hesitant to get in a car with me now... whoops. :)
Your hair looks great and this dress is so cheerful and lovely :) you look gorgeous in it. It definitely makes me want to pack a few things up and go on a summer trip <3
ReplyDeleteLife is a romantic poem
so funny that the post title is daydream believer... song has been stuck in my head for days :)! anyways, love all the colors... so fun!

Love your hair up like that! I have no idea what to do with mine lately! Love this dress! It's so cheery and it does seem to want to enduce some sort of trippy day dream! I'm a daydreamer too--my head is always filled with "what if this were to happen" and "I wish this would happen...". :)
